PURPOSE OF THE QUALIFICATION

The goal of this Certificate is to help learners understand and become acquainted with the underlying principles of all major areas of distribution in the Wholesale & Retail sector, allowing them to become more effective employees.

The NQF Level 2 Certificate in Wholesale and Retail (W &R) Distribution is intended for learners who are already employed and involved in Wholesale, Distribution, or Mail Order Retail within the Wholesale and Retail field. However, it may also provide access to, and meet the needs and aspirations of, the youth and unemployed who wish to pursue a career in these fields, or in fields where this knowledge may be useful.

At the completion of this qualification delegates will be able to:

  • Apply in and out bound call centre operations within a commercial environment

  • Pack and handle food and non-food items
  • Perform general administrative and office functions
  • Offer and maintain a credit facility and customer accounts
  • Implement Point of Sale transactions and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and secure Wholesale and Retail environment.
  • Define the core concepts of the W & R environment
  • Perform stock related functions.
  • Understand and apply mathematics
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing.

Entry Level requirements

  • Learners accessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence in relevant communication and mathematical literacy at NQF Level 1.
